This is the best barrel for a budget AR build. The 1:8 twist rate is optimal for ammunition weights ranging from standard 55 grain range ammo to slightly heavier 62 grain defensive ammunition. The 16" length is the best comprimise on muzzle velocity, greatly exceeding that of shorter barrels while maintaining a weight and size advantage over a long 20" barrel.
